Derby Name: Oh Em Gee

What does your derby name mean to you: Originally I thought that it just represented my dependence on texting, but Gee has come to feel like my real name. I love hearing people scream Oh Em Gee!

Favorite Position: I’m a blocker-all the way. I like the outside, and I like blocking backwards so I can see what’s going on. I actually feel more comfortable that direction.

How you found out about roller derby: I went to the first game of the 2010 season and I instantly fell in love. I thought since I could skate that it would be easy.  Although it’s been MUCH more difficult than I thought when I was sitting in the audience, it’s been a crazy, wonderful adventure!

Favorite derby moment during a bout:  Hearing New Jax players screaming and cheering from the sidelines while the home team was beatin’ up Tally

Favorite derby moment during an after party:  The whole entire after party in Ft Myers where the pool was closed from “Down to Dust” so we didn’t know if that meant we could swim, and we hopped fences to get into said pool, and we snuck beer into the bushes outside of the bar which was for some reason hilarious.

Favorite after party drink:  Stella Artois, or whatever shot someone is buying after a win.

Favorite bout you played in:  RCRP v ATL’s Sake Tuya’s. Our loss didn’t feel like a loss and I think it was the first time that RCRP sort of defined itself. We were so cohesive and we played an amazing game.

What are your favorite skates: Riedell 965s
What are your favorite wheels: I’m using Reckless 93s now and I like them a lot

Do you have a derby wife: I like to think of myself as being in a long-term, polygamous relationship <3. I’m not available if that’s what you’re asking.

What should your opponent know about you before a bout: I want it more than they do!

What should your fans know about you: You’ll find it hard not to scream my name  😉
