Derby Name: Jew Bully
What does your derby name mean to you: I’m a Jew and I make sure that others follow the rules, which can be misconstrued as bullying. Hence, Jew Bully.
Favorite Position: Penalty Tracker
How you found out about roller derby: Friends of mine went to the Bumbershoot Music Festival in Seattle a few years back and saw the Rat City Roller Girls. They told me all about the awesomeness of roller derby and I had to get involved. Kitsap County started their own league, the Slaughter County Roller Vixens, and I volunteered to NSO with them.
Date you started with the Jacksonville Roller Girls: June 2010
Favorite derby moment during a bout: Slaughter County has an amazing jammer, On’Da Sligh. During one jam, she zoomed to front of the pack and collided with the lead blocker. They both went down, but On’Da threw her hands out in front and ended up doing a hand spring, maintaining her position in front of the pack. By far the most amazing thing I have seen in derby.
Favorite derby moment during an after party: There have been many amazing moments at after parties, but my favorite after party has to be my first one after party with JRG in Cape Canaveral. Drinking on the beach is what sparked the many great friendships I have.
Favorite after party drink: PBR
Favorite bout you played in: As an official, we don’t get the opportunity to play in bouts. Except for at RollerCon. RollerCon 2012 I made my derby debut as a skater and played on the Officially Officials vs. the Gramercy Refs. It was an amazing experience and I was lucky enough to have fans screaming my name on both sides of the track!
What are your favorite skates: I love my Reidell 595s, with Crazy Venus plates. They respond to everything my feet tell them to do, even when my feet have no idea what they are doing.
What are your favorite wheels: I really like my Atom G-Rods. They are versatile and I’ve used em on sport court, wood floors, and concrete. They do the trick!
Do you have a derby wife: No wives, but two lovely mistresses and a large derby family!
What should your fans know about you: That I am awesome. And that I fully support 100% more dancing!
