Derby Name: PrEditor-in-Chief
Derby Number: 95
What does your derby name mean to you? It’s a play on words of my occupation. I’m a freelance writer and editor. My friend and retired skater, Sara Quill thought of it.
Favorite Position: I love blocking AND jamming. Once the adrenaline starts pumping, there’s no stopping me!
How you found out about roller derby: I found out about it through some coworkers back in 2007. I was too scared to join back then. As an outsider, the ladies were intimidating! I’ve never really been athletic or competitive. I’ve been part of dance groups and participated in ballet & tap dancing – nothing like this! After going through some major changes in my life and working a stressful job, derby has become my outlet.
Date you started with Jacksonville Roller Girls: April 2013
Favorite moment during a bout: The first time I was able to push a jammer out of bounds without going with her. 🙂
Favorite moment during an after party: Free food – lots of it! 😉
Favorite after party drink: Pineapple Upside-Down Shots
Favorite bout you played in: It was definitely my second bout, which was against the Lakeland Rockabilly Rebels. It was a very close, INTENSE game. I screamed, I laughed, I cried – all out of sheer excitement and anticipation. Watching Toxic and Islamay jam was the best part of the night!
What are your favorite skates? I’ve still got starter skates now – Riedel R3’s. I can’t wait to upgrade to some higher-end Riedel’s.
What are your favorite wheels? Backspin Beastmodes
Do you have a derby wife? No.
What should an opponent know about you before a bout? You should expect nothing but the best from me on that track. I expect the same. Bring it!
What should your fans know about you? I’m a spicy Puerto Rican. I’m kind, passionate, wear my heart on my sleeve, and love to laugh and eat delicious food. Let’s chat it up!
